Train up a child in the way he should go… Proverbs 22:6

Glad Tidings meets in Room C-147 and is taught by Angela Maze & Suzanne Duncan.

Welcome to the Glad Tidings class! My name is Angela Maze.  This is my 9th year with QSBC Weekday Ministries.  I am very excited to get to know the students and their families, and to work with Ms. Suzanne!

My husband Anthony and I celebrated our 21th anniversary last November and we have two sweet children, Alex and Addie. I was very blessed to work for this program when my children attended, and now they are in 5th and 7th grade.  I feel just as blessed every year when a new class of bright faced Pre-K students graces these halls!  We love our church family here at QSBC and have attended here for 15 years. When I am not here teaching, I enjoy photography and being outside with my dogs and cats.

In the book of Psalm the Bible states that children are a gift from the Lord.  My biggest goal is to help each child come to know God’s love through Bible truths and examples of kindness in our classroom.  We will also learn through role play, singing, manipulatives, playing games, and art projects.  We will use graphing, along with number recognition to work on Math readiness.  We will enjoy learning phonetic sounds through song and movement.  We will also work on recognizing and writing upper and lower case letters.  We will learn about God and his love for us and how we can live by His rules finding joy and peace among each other as we work together.

My wish for each child in this class is to feel comfortable and excited about coming to school.  I also want you as a parent to feel comfortable talking to me about anything big or small that I can do to ensure that.  Please feel free to contact me in person, by phone, or email with any information and/or question you may want to discuss.  The 2011-2012 school year is about to start, and I am so excited….I hope you are too!

My name is Suzanne Duncan and I am thrilled to be the assisting teacher in your child’s Pre-K class.  I have been married for twenty-one years and have four children.  I have attended Quail Springs Baptist Church for six years.   I am a CPA and am blessed to get to work from home as the controller of my husband’s business.  But my passion is working with children and youth.

I was a lead Pre-K teacher for two years at QSBC weekday.  Last year, however, I took a year off to help my husband open up our new retail landscape nursery in Piedmont.  I missed the kids so much that I decided to return this year to work with Ms. Angela.  Working with preschoolers and the staff here at QSBC Weekday is incredibly rewarding and I am glad to be back.

Pre-K is so much more than ABC’s and 123’s.  It is providing a positive first learning experience in a loving and nurturing environment.  And, it is laying a foundation of moral character that leads to both personal and academic success.  I thank you for the privilege of teaching and loving your children this year.  And, I look forward to getting to know each of you.
