Train up a child in the way he should go… Proverbs 22:6

Sunbeams meets in Room C-145 and is taught by Patricia Alexander and Kiley Harbeson.

My name is Patricia Alexander and I have enjoyed living in Edmond for 15 years.  I started teaching children at Quail Springs Baptist Church in 2002.  I took a short break and I am so happy to be back.  My husband, David, works for the Department of Defense.  I have a 29 year old daughter, Ashley who is married and working on her career.  We have been blessed with a granddaughter, Madison who will be two years old in September.  My son, Sean, recently graduated from OSU in engineering.  He is now gainfully employed at Sandridge Energy.  And last but not least, my daughter Lauren is in 7th grade this year at Cimarron Middle School.

I was raised in a small town, Carney, Oklahoma, which is 25 miles south of Stillwater.  I secretly smile at people who graduated with a class of 600 because my graduating class size was 25.  Growing up in the country offered many wonderful experiences.  Attending a small school meant that I could start on the girl’s basketball team and be on the cheer squad for other sports.  I was involved in 4-H, public speaking and ballet lessons.  I learned to love animals of all kinds and the wonders of nature. I am sharing this because my childhood shaped the person I am today just as we will work together for your child’s spiritual growth, well being and readiness for kindergarten.

For relaxation, I like to work in my flower garden and read mystery novels late at night.  I force myself to take walks for exercise.  I have several pets that also bring joy to my life.  My husband and I have a quarter horse ranch in Wellston, Oklahoma.    On the weekends, we try to participate in some of the ranch duties and work in some trail riding, especially in the Spring and my favorite season, Fall.

I have been so blessed to find my calling in life and that is teaching children! I have had a life filled with interesting careers but none of them have been as rewarding as working with children.  It is an honor that I take very seriously.  As we march through the school year, I will bring many new things to your child’s life as I share with them my love for God and His world.  You can expect a classroom filled with lots to do, a day filled with lots of learning and a teacher filled with lots of love.  Thank you.

Hello, my name is Kiley Harbeson.  I am so excited to be starting my second year with Quail Springs Weekday Ministries.  Before beginning my work here, I was a stay at home mom for 7 years and I loved every minute of it.  Prior to that, I worked with 2’s, 3’s and Pre-K students in my home state of Georgia.  My husband Jason and I have been married for 10 years and have 4 beautiful boys.  Aaron is 14, Bryton 10, Andon 7 and Kolton 5.  This will be our first year with all of our boys in “big school”!  I am looking forward to a wonderful year getting to know and working with all of your children.  To see the joy and happiness on their faces makes my job so gratifying!!!  I am truly blessed!
